Public Information Meeting ReportFederal Funding IssueEditorialTown staff presented three re-development options for QE Park based on provisional drawings by Shore Tilbe Irwin and Partners, Architects to local residents. The meeting was then opened for questions and comments.
The major concerns voiced by local residents was the increase in size of the parking lot and potential loss of green space, traffic issues and possible light pollution. The Architects and landscaping experts presented design strategies to resolve these issues (

A handful of residents questioned the need for such considerable space allocation to arts and cultural groups. Residents were invited to contact CommUnity Arts Space and the Oakville Arts Council for background information such as studies, space audit, user surveys etc, all of which were the basis of space planning for the new centre.
